Signature Programmes
No. | Title of Programme / Activity | Brief Description (2-3 sentences) |
1 | Learning for Life Programme (LLP) |
This programme aims to give our students further exposure to art forms through a series of enrichment programmes and after-school activities, such as the termly Art Jam sessions. Students can experience and choose activities such as show choir and ceramics to discover their interest in the Arts. For more information, please visit the LLP page. |
2 | Project GROW |
Project GROW is an inter-department project knits the skills needed in English Language, Art, Design & Technology and Food & Consumer Education, to motivate students to see the relevance in their learning. Students will learn how to design, grow, cook and package edible herbs through a real world context. |
3 | Music jamming & lunch time performances | Using their skills acquired during their Music lessons and LLP, students get to showcase their talents through Lunch time performances and Music Jamming Sessions. This motivates and challenges the students to be confident learners as they share what they have learnt, through music, to the rest of the school. |
4 | Tanglin Secondary Makerspace | This interest driven after school engagement programme extends the learning of students through the hands on building and tinkering. |
5 | Learning Journeys and competitions |
The aim of these learning journeys and competitions is to instil in students the joy of learning. For instance, internally organised school competitions – TSS Bake & Decorate Competition and ethnic sushi competition, promote knowledge and skills through critical thinking and creativity elements. It also encourages collaboration and develop our students in character as they learn to provide services to the school or community through projects. Beyond that, students embark on learning journeys, such as to batik studio and the D&T Seminar, to deepen and strengthen their understanding of the subject. The authentic learning experience also serves to see the relevance of what they are studying in school. Upper secondary students are also encouraged to participate in national competitions such as iChef Competition, Assumption Pathway School Baking Competition and Lam Soon Sandwich-making Competition. |
