The ICT department seeks to engage and develop students into future-ready and responsible digital learner. The use of technology in teaching and learning equips students with essential 21st century skills and shapes them into self-directed and collaborative learners.
We equip students with baseline ICT skills through enrichment programmes and lessons involving the use of technology during curriculum.
The school uses the MOE Cyber Wellness framework to develop the students’ instinct to protect and empower themselves to take responsibility for their own well-being in cyberspace.

|1.||Cyber Wellness Programme||
Cyber Wellness refers to the positive well-being of Internet users. It involves an understanding of the norms of appropriate use, responsible behaviour with regard to technology use, as well as knowledge, skills, values and attitudes on how to protect oneself and other Internet users in the cyber world.
Our school uses the CW framework to develop the child’s instinct to protect and empower him to take responsibility for his own well-being in cyberspace. The three principles, ‘Respect for Self and Others’, ‘Safe and Responsible Use’ and ‘Positive Peer Influence’ when adhered to will anchor a child’s well-being in cyberspace as he will then be able to make careful and well-considered decisions.
|2.||Code For Fun Programme||
Code for Fun Enrichment Programme (supported by IMDA and MOE) is offered to schools to increase students’ exposure to coding and computational thinking.
Students in Tanglin Sec get to learn coding on Microsoft Block Editor platform when using Micro:Bit and Arduino Kits for microcontroller basic and intermediate training. Students will be coached on how to code simple sequence and repetition algorithms using one input component and one output component. To make learning fun and relevant, students will be posed real-life problems and they will have extensive hands-on opportunities to build interesting micro:bit projects.
