Student Development & Well-Being
Overview
The Character & Citizenship Education (CCE) Department aims to imbue the school’s core values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Integrity, Care and Curiosity to Learn in our students, as well as to build their social-emotional skills.
The CCE programmes comprise the formal CCE curriculum – the BASIC programme, as well as experiential learning programmes through the Education & Career Guidance programme, Values-In-Action programme, Cyber wellness programme, Sexuality Education programme, and the National Education programme.
The department also looks into the well-being of the students through processes like positive teacher-student relations, the teacher-pupil interactions, counselling programmes, financial assistance programmes, and intervention programmes.

1. | Career Day |
The Career Day is an annual programme for the graduating students. Post-secondary education institutes and industry professionals are invited to conduct talks for the students. Educational booths are also set up for students to browse and gather resources. To prepare students to be future-ready, students also embark on a project to complete a self-marketing film to introduce themselves and talk about their strengths, talents, interests, etc. This helps to build self-confidence and awareness in the students, as well as sharpen their presentation skills. A career forum where industrial professionals share their insights and experiences with the students is also held. |
2. | Gratitude Programme | The Gratitude programme helps to build resilience in students and a sense of appreciation towards others and life in general. Monthly gratitude sharing and reflection sessions are conducted to build gratitude practices. A gratitude postcard competition is also organised to allow students to express their gratitude through post-card designing. |
3. | Values-in-Action | The Values-in-Action programme focuses on the IPARD/C (a service-learning approach) method to instil care and responsibility in our students. Students are challenged to find their own passion and causes to solve community issues. Through investigation, preparation, action and reflection, students initiate and drive meaningful community projects to improve the environment and lives of the community. |
